Background Image Importing
 

TrussFramer allows the placement of background files to allow quick plan tracing; the image has no selectable points. Along with the input of these background files users have the ability to manipulate these objects after placement. Users can import the following file types:

  • PDF
  • JPG
  • PNG
  • GIF
  • TIF
  • BMP  

Import Background File:

1. Trigger the insert background command from the Job Tree with the level selected. Select level in Job Tree, right click and then Insert.
2. TrussFramer then displays a browser dialog with the available files that match the available file types for the background image for the browsed location. Select File and then Open. TrussFramer has the ability to associate one image to each level of the job using the import dialog.
3.  When selecting a PDF to import, the Import PDF Background dialog appears. Select the desired PDF in the PDF preview window.

4. Select the desired PDF in the PDF preview window

5. Select an associative level in the level dropdown.
6. Select the Associate Level button

7. Continue process until all desired levels have an associated PDF.

8. Select the Import Selected Background(s) to Model button

9. TrussFramer defaults the bottom right point of the imported PDF to the origin of model space.

Note: If halting the process is desired at any point select the close button

 

Modify Background File

After placement of the background file, users can modify the file to make Invisible, Remove, Hide, Scale or Align.
 

To Remove Background File:

1. Select On Level, right click and then Remove. The inserted background file will be removed from the job.

Note: Once a background has been removed the insert process and any background image adjustment processes must be conducted again on the image.

 

To Hide/Show Background File:

1. Select On Level, right click and then Hide. The inserted background file will be hidden but still available in the job. The hidden background image is stored with any image adjustments (scale, alignment).
2. To show a hidden background, select On Level, right click and then Show.

To Scale Background File:

1. TrussFramer allows the ability to select two points and actual distance for a given inserted background and have that designation translated to the image scaling. To begin scaling on placed file, select On Level, right click and then Scale.
2. Status bar prompts user to select first point. An offset dialog is presented if offset is needed.
3. Status bar then prompts for second point.
4. Enter the actual distance upon which to base the scaling of the background file. Select OK and background image is then scaled.

To Align Background File:

1. Select On Level, right click and then Align.

2. Status Bar prompts user to select the first point. Offset dialog is presented if offset is needed.

3. Status Bar then prompts for end point. If offset is needed, use Shift-Click. Select point and the background image will be aligned to the two points.
