Horizontal Truss Stacker

Horizontal Truss Stacker

Description

Purpose

MiTek Horizontal Truss Stacker is designed to improve the productivity and efficiency of the truss fabrication process. With the integrated Four-Transporter horizontal truss stacking system, the fabricator can stack trusses up to 80 feet long on either side of the conveyor or provide four stacking stations for trusses up to 40 feet in length.

New Addition to Material Handling

The Horizontal Truss Stacker is MiTek's most recent piece of material handling equipment. It stacks trusses in the horizontal or flat position, which is the way most trusses are built and delivered. This reduces the amount of truss handling and, in turn, the chance of damage to the products.

Two Systems Available

MiTek's Horizontal Truss Stacking Ssytem is avialable in two versions: the two-transporter and the four-transporter systems, both of which are designed to stack trusses on both sides of the exit conveyor. The two-transporter system has two stacking zones, one on each side of the exit conveyor; the four-transporter system has four stacking zones, two on each side of the conveyor.

*Utilizes a minimum of two transporters to stack each truss
*35-second cycle time.
*Automatically stacks trusses in the designated stack
*Stacks trusses in the same plane as they were built.
*Moves trusses from the assembly area to the stacking area automatically.

Benefits

*Stacks all truss configurations, including scissor trusses.
*Speeds up stacking operation and allows for efficient stacking from multiple set-up tables.
*Reduces costs related to manual material handling, which may include increased insurance premiums and lost-time injury.
*Reduces product damage resulting from inadequate handling procedures.
*Improves material flow through the truss fabrication process.
*Improves packaging operation.
*Heavy-duty construction.
*Compatible with existing conveyor sytems.
*Trusses are mechanically stacked in the horizontal position.
*Reduces risk of injury commonly found in banding and manual stacking procedures.

What Equipment Can Do

Typical Production Volumes

The MiTek Horizontal Stacker can be expected to meet these production standards:
*35-second cycle time between stacked trusses.
