BRACING (continued)

TOP CHORD (RAFTER) BRACING

NOTE:

Install web bracing type "WB" where web members must be braced by longitudinal runners. i.e. Compression members with length > 52 x thickness,
Members that occur in compression due to wind force only with length > 72 x thickness.

BRACING FOR TILED ROOFS

The rafters of tiled roofs should be braced with diagonal members running from the wallplate to the apex of the truss as shown.

This type of bracing may be used to a maximum of 13m span - for larger spans use prefabricated bracing frames.

BRACING FOR SHEETED ROOFS

Brace the rafters of sheeting roofs with 38 x 114 bracing members nailed above the top chords between the purlins, as shown.
